“Don’t Do it!” Warns Jeremy Paxman to aspiring journalists

Jeremy Paxman response to Journalism students, when asked for advice, was “Don’t do it!” during a Q&A session.
Following a charity lunch and auction at Aston Villa Football Club, ITV Anchor Bob Warman and Jeremy Paxman took the stage allowing the audience to pick the Newsnight presenters’ mind. When asked the question by a table of Birmingham City University students, the advice created a heated discussion between a Lecturer and the University Challenge quizmaster after he said,
But Marverine Duffy, Journalism BA Course Director and journalist, was quick to respond,

“Not at all, there is more content being produced more than ever, there are so many more platforms now, through academic they learn their law, their ethics, they are story hunters, and they learn to produce content on all platforms.”
“You must come and see us at Birmingham City University and meet our students, and they’ll show you what they can do.”
